Woodford Glen Speedway Association Inc.

The name Woodford Glen was derived by combining parts of the founders surnames (Inwood & Rutherford). Glen was included due to their liking of the famous Watkins Glen track in the states. Errol Inwood and Ron Rutherford first opened the speedway
in 1974. The Woodford Glen Speedway Association, or the (club) purchased the business in the early 80's. Woodford Glen Speedway is situated North of Christchurch at Kaiapoi, New Zealand. The club prides itself on bringing to its public "family" entertainment.
At least 20 times from early October to April, on saturday nights, these drivers and their crews come to life. The club also runs demolition derby's during the season as well as other high profile championship events. Click here for directions to Woodford Glen Speedway.

"Fireworks Condition of Entry"
In the interest of public safety, in the event of adverse weather conditions the fireworks professionals in charge of the fireworks display on the night are required under OSH regulations to cancel the display.
The decision to cancel will not be made by the promotions or the Woodford Glen Speedway Association, this decision (if necessary) will be made by the fireworks professionals as set down by OSH.

Website Changes.
The Woodford Glen Website is changing. Due to an ever increasingly sophisticated website user the board has made the decision to engage a professional marketing team to develop a new website for the club. The new website is designed primarily to sell tickets to new customers. All information is there, it will just take a little getting used to the new navigation.
Driver Commit Form is your Race Entry Form, and can be found under the "Drivers" Tab.
The Website will go offline Thursday and will be online again Monday 16 October.
The Club would like to thank Roger Nees for the stellar service he has provided over many years to help develop and maintain the Woodford Glen Website.

Yes after an agreement with Jeanette Bolt and myself, the first official speedway track website in NZ was launched. And that was an amazing 19 years ago. So it is with a hint of sadness I guess the time has come for the Woodford Glen website to be lead into the future by a professional team. "Burger King New Zealand Saloon Championship"
AmPro Tools Woodford Glen Speedway are excited to announce Burger King as our naming rights partner to the 2018 New Zealand Saloon Championship. This is a great result for the Saloon class and Woodford Glen Speedway who are hosting this championship for the first time in its history.
The Saloon class struggled to find its place at Woodford Glen for the first few years of its introduction, however through the dedication of its drivers and consistent effort from the club the class has experienced substantial growth over the past two years. Early indications suggest we will see at least 15 – 18 registered drivers to Woodford Glen this coming year. Obviously this is fantastic news for the club looking forward to the Burger King New Zealand Saloon Championship in January 2018.
As mentioned above we are extremely excited to have a truly international brand such as Burger King as a partner. Due to our strong position, professionalism and successful 40 plus year history we are confident Burger King have chosen the right partner to market and promote their brand in the Canterbury and surrounding regions.
Furthermore (and due to Burger Kings valuable commitment) the Saloon class will be huge benefactors of this partnership and the 2018 "Burger King New Zealand Saloon Championship" will exceed all expectations.

“Wanting to race at Woodford Glen – A quick guide for all drivers including visitors”
All drivers who wish to race at AmPro Tools Woodford Glen Speedway must complete the online entry form on the Monday night of a race week. The online form can be found at the top of this page and only takes a couple of minutes to complete. Or "click here" to enter now! As usual we welcome all visiting drivers, however as some of our classes are very full we will contact you once we have received your entry form to confirm your spot.
Opening Times: Pit gate opens at 4pm (unless otherwise advertised). Entry to the pits via this gate is for drivers and staff in vehicles only. There is no pedestrian access at this gate. All pedestrians must enter at our public gate which also opens at 4pm.
Scrutineering: Opens at 4pm and closes at 6pm sharp. Drivers Briefing: Starts at 6.15pm and is for drivers only. Grand Parade: Starts at 6.45pm Racing Starts: 7pm
