What an absolutely brilliant night of Superstock racing ... a format that rewards a lot of drivers for a lot of different achievements. The $25,000 prize pool up for grabs is one huge incentive for any racer. After a total of 15 heats to have three cars on equal points for the lead just shows the dedication and competitive edge of all the teams. The four lap "Super 12" shootout alone proved just how quick a 1500kg Superstock can really "Hoopla!". Newly crowned 3nz Shane Penn drove a calculated final and led from start to finish but not before 591p Wayne Hemi in the infamous "Red Waka" had a dive for the win on the last lap. This proved fatal for Hemi when his car launched over the front of Penn's machine resulting in one upended waka!. This handed 2nd overall to 66r Steve Hampton and 3rd to 96h Scott Redfurn who both acquited themselves very well over the weekend. This last lap incident brought out the only "red light" over the 20 lap final which was raced on a track in perfect condition.

In the support classes the Super Saloons produced two impressive rollovers ... Adam Gent driving a borrowed car is probably not too popular after tipping it over entering turn three but the highest score for artisitic somersaulting has to go to 62c Alan Taylor who destroyed his Monaro in front of the control tower just prior to the Hoopla! final. That has to be an expensive way to try to get on live TV!
